hunting mastery
yesterday i was on 987 hunting mastery i cleared my 9 traps then another 9 times when the time limit was up. this should give me 1005 hunting mastery. i logged off and have logged back on today to do my 9 traps and im not getting the mastery for this. (+1). i did complete the hunting collection to make me go over the 1000 mark last night i now have 1487 after emptying my traps still.
The closer you get to next level of professions the less likely you are to receive skill-up for gathering resources. That being said it's perfectly normal that you didn't receive the mastery for nine traps you cleared when you had 987 hunting mastery, as you were very close to the next level of it.
