maybe you clicked the ignore button,
next to smiley's tab there is a tab with a man on it with an arrow either side, if this is turned on then only chat you can see is private pms,

Which means you have the option to see only your own messages/those directed to you on. It's the button that is right next to smileys one, make sure to un-tick it.
