Mine fights and BCs

20. It is forbidden to disturb other players or employees of the Administration, including such methods as (but not limited to) threats, harassment or insults.

Attacking mines and BCing other toons in this game is legal and as far as I can tell, encouraged. My alts get BCed on a regular basis and my blue mines get taken constantly, usually with my character still in the same location after I get the mine. It annoys me when toons that are far stronger than mine do it and I can't do anything about it but deal and accept the 2pcs Silver ore I get. That's the way the game works and I get it.

But, when I fairly BC another toon or fairly take a mine from another and then find myself with multiple high level curses and hexes from a high level toon, it makes you wonder. Getting mining rep and BC rep in this game is hard enough as it is without having to operate under the constant threat of attack because of it and then wind up losing the opportunity to get any valor in the arena because you can't enter with a curse, in some cases as much as a full day later.

Doesn't this kind of action violate the intent of the rule? Just saying. Hitting a lv36 with a 60+ toon seems a little bit of an overkill. Using black and orange curses as a punishment doesn't seem to fit the crime. It's easy to say, oh, that toon is an alt of whoever, I better not touch it, but my thought is, if you have left your toons too weak to protect anything and rely on heavy handed strong arm tactics from a big toon to protect it, too bad. Most of these bigs at one time or another BCed everything in sight to get their rep and cared not a bit for it. Now, they use their weight to dictate how the game should be played to others doing the same thing.

Sorry for the rant, but it just seems like hypocrisy.

Where's the hypocrisy? You're on same playing field what is done by them can be done by you.
Put on a sphere of BC protection, take all the mines on land you want and nobody can BC you, regardless of there size.
Or take up another profession and mine when you are a big level 70
Wrecktul Thunder,
Make sure you level 70 protectors are on first next time. "> Hope to chat with you soon about the whole story.

This rule is silly to have on the books, it's never going to be enforced and just needs to be rewritten ">">
Mining is not for Alts or low level players. If you cant take a barbarian or contribute to killing them, don't whine about your mines being attacked by those who do open them from Barbs, because without them you would have nothing to collect EVER.
kingmp,
The point was, Wrecktul hit a lower level miner, she was not taking from someone that kills barbs, she was taking from a low level alt. How was she to know that miner had a red-cursing main?

The thing is, we've all protected our alts, but if we really wanted to review the rules, wouldn't that be against them? Logging on your main to threaten someone who annoyed your alt has been happening for as long as I have been playing, so this rule is useless and might as well be changed.
Mining is big profession. New players should not do it. You have to be big enough to beat a 70 max gear player or belong to a clan/ or have a friend that makes them think they'll get a fight if they attack. They may use alts to mine but that is thier choice and really nothing weaker players can do about it. If we as a server always attacked those who attack clanned miners that would stop it a little. This goes same for Bc as well.

I think the point wreck was trying to make was he/she tries to do things at his/her level but big players interfere with him building reps. Which is a typical issue and nothing new.

We all know the response "it's part of the game" lol. So deal or play something else.
The game has several features to help mitigate your risk, including Sphere of Immunity, Eldior's Blessing, and Aeona's Mirror.

With Sphere of Immunity you can still attack mines. If a person defends with a bc sphere, you will not be injured. This way you get to have your mine fights without losing your access to arenas.

Eldior's Blessing also does not prevent you from entering arenas and can be helpful to avoid the hexes that might otherwise hinder your movement between mines.

Aeona's Mirror gives you a chance to reflect a bane in combat. However, this protection is not 100%, and if you are hit with the bane it's no arenas for you. The good news is banes do not last nearly as long as bc injuries.

But at its core mining is a PvP profession. Anybody who can't defend their mines will just get scraps. There's nothing wrong with farming, fishing, or hunting until you're bigger. I do all professions - it helps keep the game fresh.
IF DE wants to alleviate some of the problems with lower lvl mining, is to expand the number of mines, reduce the number of miners deploy at the same time, put a set limit of times you can attack other miners. Couple of suggestions from top of my mine but their is nothing wrong with this profession and DE as a whole so nothing will be change.
Mining is a profession that requires strength instead of stagnation to complete and is designed in such a way that pure alts will not be successful and I think it's best for the game that it stay that way. Currently you either need the strength to unilaterally defend your mines or the singular diplomacy or clan backing to be successful at. One profession this way restricts camping alts from being completely dominant in the crafting arena and adds some excitement to an otherwise stale game. If your miner is worth fighting for, at this point, convince a clan withe the strength to back it of the same and all should be well. Otherwise, it's a game of resource wealth via strength as it should be, and you gain what you can control.

I really hate to agree with trongster,(seriously, it makes my skin crawl in ways i can't describe) but I do. Get strong enough to defend your harvest... or ally yourself in such a way that others can (in clan or otherwise), and you'll be fine. Otherwise, the other gathering professions are more than sufficient at making money.

Alts are successful when big mains come on and red curse for hitting them. That's Wrecktul's point in this post. That alt would have 0 chance of mining if not for the main threatening and bc'ing. That Alt is not in a clan that can/will defend the mine for them, instead a Main comes on and beats up Wrecktul and makes it so Wrecktul cannot mine/play. Something to consider, alt is clanned in a different clan, even in a different faction, but yet we're supposed to know who's who? Either defend your miner while the fight is happening, or accept that your alt is too weak and should stick to pond. No need to get nasty, that's my opinion of it.
This rule is poorly written and never enforced. All players need to accept that Admin will not protect you from being threatened or harassed, all you can do it put someone on ignore and ask your clanmates/friends to help you in bcs. Simple as that.
