Don't pay the ransom, they let me go! SO, for my friends out there who have been worried, here's the scoop:

For the second year running, (in October yet!) my little town got flooded. Additionally, Matthew knocked over a lot of trees. One of them took out our power lines and blew the transformer. This took out, among other things, my computer, the modem, the refrigerator, the stove, the entire entertainment system, two microwaves, two dehumidifiers, the water heater, the printer, an ipad, several UPS devices and several surge protectors. The day after we got power back, I was offered my dream job on a trial basis. I worked two weeks solid and only just got home internet back yesterday and a new computer today. I'll be around, just not as much as before.

To everyone. In addition to all the above things, we had to replace the sewer lines (original terra cottas from 1951) because a back up flooded my bathroom TWICE The job seems to be going well, cross your fingers, one and all, that I get to keep it.
