what is the exact job of a clan trader ?

to my clan if u give a item to him to sell for u trader gets 20% of the profit as commission on all personal trades. i had this for the clan trader thinking of trader as a business person. i know in a business the middle man or trader gets a share of the profit for taking a item and spending the time to sell it as a fee. a example : a manager of a artist gets depending on the conditions of the deal at least 10% or 15% of all transactions where the artist gets paid. or a lawyer gets 25% of the winnings of a lawsuit for being your lawyer.

so please explain what is the purpose of a trader and conditions and rules a trader has to fallow ? if a fee to cover taxes from selling items is not allowed. so no clan trader gets shackled for being the trader

There is already auction house , so basically your 'job of trader' is just giving out free money as there's auction house and everyone can sell their items on their own. Look at it this way, I'll give a level 4 who just joined my clan merciless crusher axe which he'll sell for 60-80 gold , and he would get 12-20g out of it for something that owner could have easy done himself. Covering tax fee's from time to time is fine however.
I agree that there should be some sort of compensation allowed to those clan members that take the time and responsibility of making trades for their members.
Trading, whether personally or in the auction house, takes time, effort, and is not without cost. It is only reasonable that the person/people doing this should be giving some sort of compensation for the time they spend doing it...time that could be spent elsewhere within the game (ie. gaining valor, completing quests, doing cave runs).
Also, most clans have this rank specifically named, so it is not unknown that this is common practice within the game. Essentially, they are working and only getting paid a small percentage for doing so.
Perhaps there should be the addition of what is considered "reasonable' compensation for this...but to not have anything mentioned at all and having players shackled is quite ridiculous.
then maybe the clan trader that all clans have should get the tax cost and a little extra for spending the time of trading not doing other things that they could be doing instead. since trading takes alot of time and effort to do since when i try to trade i end up most of the time not fighting and spending hours trying to sell my items. which is rather unpleasant if u like to fight and since i do not and can not buy reals to put things in auction house to too expensive especially since 99.9% of the time they never sale.
The clan trader is not an acceptable proffesion. It is just a use of money laundering, and falls under "bypassing game/rule restrictions". All that will use this "made up" function will be jailed, if they take the 20% profit. If you sell the item and give back all the money, it's perfectly acceptable.

MONEY LAUNDERING

Conduct/acts designed in whole or in part to conceal or disguise the nature, location, source, ownership or control of money (can be currency or equivalents, eg. checks, electronic transfers, etc.) to avoid a transaction reporting requirement under state or federal law or to disguise the fact that the money was acquired by illegal means.

Wyrdathen maybe the clan trader that all clans have .

The Dragon Dogs, do not have one of these so called traders. We teach our players how to sell, and lead by example. I am sure most of you have seen one of my ads in trade chat. We also highly encourage trading between members, (within the trade rules). This helps the family get to know each other, and learning who has what and wants what.
Yes i am one of the people to have been shackeled because of this reason the reson why i got shckeled is because i was able to finaly able to sell something. And trust me it took me 3hrs not only posting on the trade chat but going around the world finding people that are level 37 or higher because thats wast i was selling and i asked at least 20 people and they all either said no thx, i have better or im a zerker. its rly fustrating because they all rejected me. Finaly i asked the last person of the day because it was 2 in the morning and she finaly bought something so Wrydra is right also that completely makes your argument invalid.
TheGodlyVision,

You were the only one posted for this. No other clans have declared traders,
Iris/Ihit all well and good, but no where was it spelled out that what we were doing was wrong. Having said that we obvioulsy can not fight city hall. I received Debtor Shackles for allowing one of our clan to trade and item and promising him a commission. Mia Culpa.

Now what is my punishment for this heinous crime. How and when am I to be allowed back into the game?
I must agree with Sir Truckula. you can help teach and do price checks but imo you need to trade your own stuff. I mean you can just ask your "trader" type person who knows the normal AH prices for stuff on every trade and sell for that. I was a merchant aka "trader" for most of game and that is what I do for clan. I let them know what are good prices if they ask me and I get asked quite a bit.
