Guard on duty during DoT

Seems to have been an issue today where a Guard on duty was same location of their level bracket DoT. Not sure if they were attacked or not but that Guard did announce they were on duty. I would suggest that in future, during a DoT that if a guard on duty is also in that level bracket then they NOT sit at that location.
Cant speak for every one, but i know when i do DoT, i very rarely check who or clan, I normally just peruse lvl's & hit any thing in my bracket. So to me it would seem more practical for 1 player(Guard) to spend there time in a different location then rest of that level bracket having to always check who/what when participating in DoT. The Guard can obviously still perform their duties & help other players w/out the disruption of mistaken jumps. Also, as Guards can & do participate in DoT when not on duty, there is also situation where players are either in clan or raid chat during DoT & may honestly not be aware that Guard is on duty.
Just seems a simple thing really, to move 1 square whilst DoT on rather then have a heap of issues arise because of honest mistakes.

I would have to ask why the guard in question did not take this precaution to begin with.
sooooo true, its just simple really and its not hard to move 1 square to avoid these attacks and they can still do guard duties and its not like duel is all the time, it is only just once a week, so making this compromise wouldn't hurt anyona and therefore guards would not be attacked during their time ion duty whilst duel is taking place.
The Guardian on duty was working in the Winery...any player here knows that the Square of Storms and Scarlet Square are both in Winery. Why not just have the duty Guards in Winery park it in their respective Squares? Then the issue of BCing an on duty Guardian in Winery is out entirely. Just my opinion tho.
Just thought of this... You can not BC anyone in the are of the DoT. Therefore the guardian was not BCed. Therefor, the guardian has no legit grounds to stand on.
Sir Truckula,
Actually Truck, not quite. The Guardian was in the same level range of the DoT area that they were in, therefore, they were an open target. BUT as an on duty Guardian, why would they be in that area in the first place, knowing they were in the level range and could very easily be attacked? That's my question.
Agreed, but an on duty guardian, was not BCed which is against the rules. Attacking an on duty guardian as part of the DoT, is not against the rules, (at least I hope not), as a few DoTs ago, the on duty guard and myself went back forth at least five matches, and that Guard, told me that if they timed out it was cuz they were on duty, and still had to hand out silences.
Did any of you get shackled for attacking that Guardian, that didn't take precaution and was attacked during duel?

To my knowledge no one was shackled for this, but the topic was brought up because the guardian, on duty at the time made such a point of stating they were on duty and not to attack them, while being the zone of confrontation.
Sir Truckula,

Yes, the guardian made a mistake in being there, and has taken full responsability in case any damage would have come of it, to his shift or to his ego/armor.
