Both of you were applied 1.5g punishment for obvious money dumping. Two essences for 12 silver? 10 silver worth of potions for 1,3g? If you want to lend money do it normal way with conditions of when it's gonna have to be given back. When both of you pay the fine, as long as you follow the rules there won't be any further problems.


Edit: Not being aware of rules is not an excuse, however you still should pay each other for given items. I've decided to lift punishments however upon next violation of rules, you'll receive increased punishment.
