Just because the silence doesn't fall on the exact second you rule break hardly means you are exempt from punishment.

So each silence was not that harmful, a little over an hour. What I did couldn't be very severe. + I got silenced for a reason...this isn't fair that I already got silenced, so u drop 366 days worth of silences on me for something not that severe. Your talking 1 month here. But say 1 person gets a 1 day silence, thats more than what i got, they don't deserve a 1 year silence...and neither do I...+ i've been hearing by alot of people that i've been behaving lately...so sorry to argue with you, but I do NOT think I deserved that silence..

Agreed with mindless. I have known him and his speech for a while, and there was nothing in his speech that could be considered a severe rule violation.

I myself was screwed over with this, I've been behaving lately and I get dropped a 1 year silence all of a sudden. Kinda kills the point of us playing.

im gonna be perfectly honest here me and mindless dont get along but even i think this is an abuse of power. 14 silences in a month is not alot and then to give him a year silence for not even doing anything makes me think that theirs some power abusing going on here

I honestly do not believe mindless here is deserving of a one year silence. For his actions and previous silences, I don't believe it is a punishment - but nearly an abuse of power. Not taking sides here, but I have seen some of the stuff that has landed him a silence. Most of it was incredibly petty. Some of these, I felt, weren't even truly necessarily a violation of the chat rules. Some of these silences didn't seem necessary. So you are telling us that he is deserving of this silence, even though some of these silences weren't really worthy of the silence in the first place? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me...

A series of 1-day silences are effective enough to put a troll in check. If guards work regular hours, troll can't troll until guard comes back on. If he chooses to troll, he gets another day silence. If he has cleaned up his act which is likely (and trust me, constant silences are FRUSTRATING), he can go on chatting freely and appropriately.

1 year silences, the kingpin of crap.

People can clean up their act in a day, a week, or even a month. 1 year is too harsh of a punishment because even if someone has cleaned up their act, they are still silenced. It is likely that some players will miss talking to said person.

I have been there, and done that. You may say that someone who gets silenced for 1 year would be terrible talking to—you're wrong, some people liked me then.

It seems as if with these 1 day silences, the admins are looking for the optimum punishment rather than the optimum solution.

I got 2 hour silence. The reason CURSING. Ihit please look at the server chat log and you will see I did not curse. Some of the words I say might be interpreted as something bad, but nationalities say things in different ways and I did not curse. I have absolutely no problem with being silence but the point I am trying to make is that silencing is subjective on 2 criteria, first is the mod and second is friends of mods that feelings were hurt and vent to his/her mod friends. For those 2 guys whom got silence for a year. STOP saying you were behaving or try to behave in the past. START apologizing for prior misconducts and promise to behave in the future. All I hear is I don't deserve this and friends sticking up for them instead of saying sorry I promise to do better and friends saying I will make sure he/she will behave in the future.

Bud, stop speaking, like now. What you did might not be because of the reason stated, but you we're majorly trolling...in a way can be considered as flooding chat for no reason, because you we're being too annoying everyone was yelling at you which caused flooding, which probably resulted your silence, just not for the right reason.

And I have no reason to apologize what so ever...because i got silenced 14 times in 1 month, of a total of 17.40 hours, thats NOTHING, 1d silence, which takes place for a day is more severe than what i've been doing and I get hit with a 1 year?? This is abuse of power....I have no reason to apologize, and yes, I do not deserve this...What I did before, I got silenced for, but this is totally abusing power to drop a 1 YEAR on me for doing nothing, just because of prior silences. Sorry gaurds, sorry because i'm a human and I make mistakes, 17.40 hours is nothing, but 365 days =8760 hours...thats just ridiculous especially since it was out of nowhere. And friends sticking up for me? Bones420 stuck up for me, and we don't get along.....AT ALL...so we're not friends, and he even stuck up for me because he knows this is a total abuse of power, Irish im sorry, but this was way to harsh, to give us 1 year for prior misconduct, especially since we already got silenced for that. Silence has been altered to 1 day, however - any future rule breaks with result in another day of silence, avoiding silence using alts to break rules will result in 50 gold shackles for both characters involved. And if your trend of breaking rules continues the 1 year silence will be back on your character.
