Sea Battles - Here's looking at you Vaalorians

So for too long Sea Battles have barely gone due to threats from both sides and then post battle BCs. Well now we don't even have wars to get a little heroism, so end result the game stalls and everyone gets more bored and can't progress.

So a call to all smurfs, lets make a bunch of sea battles happen each day regardless of level and how strong you think you are or are not and what buffs etc you have available to you and i would extend that to Sadar too. From before i could even go to a sea battle there have been xyz player rules, same as the rest of the damn game. So now is a chance to change it.

If 9th threaten you with being hexed or BCd for going to SB then let me know and we will have some fun with that. But i see this as a chance to wipe the slate clean for both sides and just get back to playing the game for a change without all the nonsense politics and name calling shegite that goes on by some...yes looking at you Gecko;-)

Cue the 9th bile and drivel, completely ignoring what the above says.

oh well ,i am in if you smurf being threatened by whoever it is to make you not going to sb just let me know and i will have some fun with it.
RF and storm kat made good points. I have the same attitude as storm kat when i was on AER and thats get me here where i am now. It is a chance for all to come out and try to get stronger.Remember you only get stronger if you keep fighting.

I believe this will prove the point of Sea Battles being popular will lead to better odds of smurfs winning a few.
2 Battles at once. IF the "right" smurfs had been in either, could we have won? And YES, I Know, sadar's teams played nice (THANK YOU!) and didn't summon an army of replicants and omnis, but in the last few weeks, I think smurfs have started to match those summons pretty nicely, so they aren't as deadly as they used to be. I don't know about the rest of you, but I am 2 essences closer to a spell, a tiny bit closer to my next heroism rank, very happy with my valor, and loved the after party when we drank all our rum ">
RF_17,
Just to clarify because I know you are trying to make it look harder. I don't buy reals. Never have, never will. Ask your friend storm. Most clans have exchanger with rate of 1.5g per real. So...

125 SBs would cost a average individual 4g per battle. So 500g. (125x 4= 500) To get to 1000 corsair rep.
Then I took 500g I would've wasted on SB and put all in a exchanger and get 334 reals (333.33) if you want to be exact. You can then buy caskets to rank as I said before. Again I don't buy reals and I am 7k corsair for those reading and have not done a SB in a very very long time. (Prob 6 months) never said was easy but much faster. If you want to see another non-casher please look at eddieson he is 16k corsair by this method. Have any questions feel free to message me. I will walk you through it. But evidence shows it works no need to do SBs.

If you are doing Sb for valor please rethink. One thing I have learned about valor is that it is really not as hard as you think. Initial levels I was consumed by trying to cap as soon as possible so I could recoup gold or reps. But that was before medallions. Now you should not be concerned with valor. Do your dot on day of valor and it will be easy. Another great source is war where fights are equal. Also you can use medallions in these events where SBs using a medallion just a waste. (I made 60k valor in 2 hours last dot on valor day and lost every fight in it). So much better sources of valor.

Essences and coins can both be achieved without SB's. Essences can be gotten via naval battles. Load up a ship and attack. You get essences corsair pieces and collection pieces and can get 5 on 1. Odds of winning more in 75% range not 1%. Coins are easy. Fight pirates. I use to hop on these and make 15g and get 100 coins. So double bonus get gold for real exchanger and collect coins to get chests. Once strong enough and just kill torlings and you are on easy street. All chest rewards. We usually recommend purple mount two sydian upgrades.

Most of who have been playing know the point of this post and don't really care. Good luck to those who go. But I will always be willing to help those wondering how to get rep withou setting foot in a battle. Feel free to messenge me anytime.

This is an olive branch? A fresh start? I'll bite.

I'll speak for myself, not for ninth. That's for leadership and council to do. It's interesting that this post comes up today... I was just quickly chatting with someone who I'll not name today and saying how my fire to fight is pretty well burned out. Lately I've really only wanted to farm and gather and hang out with the people who have become close friends in my time here. It was this same person who some time ago... and this is out of context... but the point sticks... said "no matter how much we fight, you're one of us" - and that's stuck with me. I'll dig into that later.

For Starters:
Congratulations. You've built a clan (and a bunch of toons, collectively) that no one can compete with. The issue there, that I think you're starting to feel, is that now no one wants to try to compete. Makes the game a bit on the boring side, yeah? I'm bored. I miss the thrill of the fight where either side could win. I really miss sea battles being a regular thing. Anymore I don't do them mostly because I can't recall the last time I managed a HOP without being red/black cursed... but that's the bed I've made and I'll lay in it. I digress...

Balance is essential in any community and if we don't get some balance and start fostering the new players and encouraging them to grow and stay a part of the community, we'll be just another bug on the windshield of Terra when they inevitably merge us in. That won't be fun for anyone here. (well, maybe pandor... insert chuck noris style joke here...)

This is a game - and granted it's combat centric - but it's first and foremost a community of people who share a common interest and spend quite a lot of time together... and for the most part lately... we treat each other like garbage - as inhuman and worthless as the mobs we hop on. I am personally as guilty of this as the next person, and I'll own my responsibility and role in how truly toxic things have become, but it's rampant and silly and counter to anything and everything any real community should be. It's really no wonder our numbers are dwindling. And we're losing friends and good people over it.

People are bored. People are frustrated with not being able to leave the square or clan hall without attacks and hexes. People are tired of seeing their crafting and gathering masteries effectively halted. People are tired of the hatred and downright nastiness. There's always a place for a good heated rivalry between clans and those are the things that make it fun when constrained to reasonable levels, but we're all out of control. The game is headed for a bad place without a "fresh start" so I agree and will do my part in helping to have one, provided there is a mutual buy in. I'm really glad to see this offer made public, and hope the leaders of the respective parts of the community can come together and set up a foundation that will help all to thrive and grow and most of all, enjoy the game again! I know I come here to escape the stresses and pressures of real life, and I'm sure many others do too.

To be continued...
And etiquette. We really need some etiquette again.

What's it going to take to get game etiquette back to where it used to be? This includes:

1. Have an actual reason for bcing someone, not 'just because'. If working reps, offer healing to clanned at the very least. If it's for a quest, one time per player is plenty. You don't get valor for more than one attack per 24 hours on a given player for a reason. More than once just breaks armor and takes coin that could otherwise be used for pvp in larger stages. Have an issue with someone or something they've done? By all means... attack! And then get over it and move on.

2. Losing an arena/sea battle/war/whatever is not a reason to go on a bc rampage. This discourages people from wanting to play.

3. Players on hop/garuug should be off limits. Those who do not buy reals cannot play (including going to sea battle) without coin.

4. Ore mines are hard enough to keep from the barbarians. These never used to be attacked by players for any reason. Goes along with money/crafted items/buffs/etc to be able to do larger combat events like sea battle on heroism day or otherwise. Sydian is not a justification here, it's 1-3 sydian per completed mine at high levels. You get more than that killing a few mobs on the islands. I have absolutely no idea how this got so incredibly out of control, but it should be addressed as part of any "fresh start".

5. No one has the right to tell anyone else they can't play. Or stop them from playing. Having the ability does not translate to having that right. Those I've spoken to from our merges with AER and LUNA have shared horror stories of this kind of behavior essentially bringing an end to their respective slices of Adan. It's not outlandish to picture that happening here.

There are other things. I'd love to hear what others thing of what a "fresh start" might look like... one that rejuvenates the game and combat arenas of all types... one that makes the game something you'd recommend to friends and not a ball of toxic boredom and hate.

So like I said - if this really is an olive branch intended to help the game and its enjoyability... I'm 100% on board. I invite all to participate in an open and constructive dialog about how we get things "fixed".

TL;DR

have 2 SB brackets. more lower levels will play, if they know they are not going to see 9 L60 and above players on the other side. i know we get elixirs, but they do not compensate for a fully upgraded L70 with spells, etc. make a L50 and below bracket and a L51 and above bracket. i would go to see far more.
I told you they would do this..
As Dill said and as I said before in another post about the same topic, it would be much better if the losing side got some heroism as well.

And it is nice to see the willingness to protect vaalorian people from threats and being bc'ed, I just hope that willingness being extended to the sadarian people too, so if Sadar lost a SB, sadarian people shouldn't get hexed or bc'ed either. Let's be fair....
Forum fighting? Funnest part of the game right here! DE should charge 50s per post ">

Burn all the Sadars take no prisoners! ">

Oh I hope clan wars come back soon too was the 2nd funnest part of the game.

I agree as well. Heroism for the losing team would be great. And to the admin response that "well you can get heroism by killing Sea Wolves, being best gunner, etc.", it really just doesn't amount to enough heroism to ever rank in any significant way.

Another possibility would be to make Sea Battles a mixed battleground. Forget Vaalor vs. Sadar. Just get 10-18 people in the queue and mix em up. That way there is no concern about balance of factions.

-Lance-
completely unfounded to say we threaten anyone not to go sb , typical sadar threats as usual. no basis in truth , u bc red /black , hex, curse everyday and u wonder y we don't go lmao, till sbs give some `little` heroism for participating waste of time. U can blow yer trumpet all u want , I am impervious to your insinuations.
ground rules for sb now as I think are as followed

mounts, skellys, balms, food and temple buffs are fine
min acceptable requirements are with a blue belt and a mount (prefered green or better)
no summons but dragon and skellys
no bc (unless heal after)
no bc revenge
all saying to other side is gf and compliment (or joke complain as a stretch) a move done to you (such as the ever funny reflecting your best spell back at you for a crit stun or a crit kill)

game improvements we would like: more heroism (losing side to get some and increased amounts for winning side due to no wars atm)
possibly tiers for those 52+ and 51-
randomized play fields (merging sadar and vaalors like they do in all other pvp battle arenas)

personal suggestions: make an sb event that can be done clan v clan!
Zalex Jr,
That's the idea. Hope to see you there soon! If you need any suggestions and advice, you know where to find me in game. ">
All said and done I still think having a mixed SB is for the benefit for everyone. We would have it going more often that now and players from valor would also get heroism.
Let us all not forget that we need players from valor to get strong because the more balanced the factions are the more enjoyable the game would be
Sea Battle is to show off - Winning is a bonus.
Went to SB many times to die.
If you get lucky and win & you make it to RF kill forever list. You kicked ars, be proud and celebrate

Now Im Sadar so I dont sea battle -Goodluck!
... so many people missing the point of this thread... so sad that the bridge is being burnt by some of these people...
New change in my calculations... if Valor... DON'T mount, DON'T summon, DON'T temple buff and this idea is fine.

OH and only lesser pots. don't bother with even blue. complete waste. farm part 1 and part 2 and forget part 3.
Reaghnf,
