Sea Battles - Here's looking at you Vaalorians

So for too long Sea Battles have barely gone due to threats from both sides and then post battle BCs. Well now we don't even have wars to get a little heroism, so end result the game stalls and everyone gets more bored and can't progress.

So a call to all smurfs, lets make a bunch of sea battles happen each day regardless of level and how strong you think you are or are not and what buffs etc you have available to you and i would extend that to Sadar too. From before i could even go to a sea battle there have been xyz player rules, same as the rest of the damn game. So now is a chance to change it.

If 9th threaten you with being hexed or BCd for going to SB then let me know and we will have some fun with that. But i see this as a chance to wipe the slate clean for both sides and just get back to playing the game for a change without all the nonsense politics and name calling shegite that goes on by some...yes looking at you Gecko;-)

Cue the 9th bile and drivel, completely ignoring what the above says.

ShmexxyStorm,
You laugh but i'm serious. Any valors that do it. don't waste anything go in unmounted and unbuffed. Only way it will be beneficial to you.

You see me in there it is how I will be doing them from now on.

And Zalex.. what is the purpose of this post?
Reaghnf,

No, the idea is funny.
Seems beneficial, but will probably result in a rainbow. lol
_Mindless_Prodigy_,
RF just said.. he won't do that... do you think he would go back on his word? haha And I'm part of the evil clan and I'm the one recommending it.... (There is a ton of sarcasm here)
Reaghnf,

">">
Will also say me unmounted and lesser pots is probably equal to a supremacy buffed level 22. So there should be no issue with this plan if they are welcome i can play how i want to.
I'm never going to get my neph quest done am I (lvl 25, need 2 more sb wins)
There are not many of us smurfs that can compete with sadars, But those of us that can should be far more willing to help those that can't. The feedback I'm getting for actually playing the game is pretty extreme. I have many thanking me for inviting them, for showing them what kind of fun can be had, and most importantly, for helping them realize why they need to work on certain reps and invest in certain gear.

Then I have the ones that already know all this and want me to quit making sea battles go. No Surprise to me, as I went through this Months ago when I first started my sea battle training. Putting it bluntly - if not for PvP, what would have been the motivation to get a belt? Or purple gear? Or purple mount? So, lets get ALL battlegrounds going (and yes, I want Vortex just as badly, but that's a harder one to recruit for)

I started late in level, I was Far from purrfect in my reps, and I still have catching up to do (If I compare myself to the ones complaining), but my plan has been and will be, to drag as many smurfs up the ladder with me as possible.

I want young smurfs to see Sea Battle links and think "how we can get smurfs winning?".
I want old smurfs to see Sea Battle links and think "hmmm.... Valor for no gear damage?" OR "corsair spells would be good to have"
I want the smurfs in queue to think "This is awesome fun, Win or Lose, this is a great part of the game". ">
So...I guess I best respond now a number have had their say.

The thread was intended first of all purely for sea battles...but I guess a few points interlock and can be deemed as relevant, or at least associated.

First of all it is good to see in the last few days a few new faces on both sides in SBs, and from links I have seen some wins for Vaalor also. Would be nice to see 9th red buff up when I or Pandor online and go for it once...but maybe that can be arranged...I will leave it up to those guys, they know who they are.

Some have said recently the top players aren't willing to take the tough road to the top...odd that given that when I started SBs vaalor were dominant. I used to go all the time, or at least as often as I could. Why? So I could learn and talk to the captains and other players who were more experienced than the lvl22 I was at the time. Also with each battle I got some heroism. By not going you never get any. So while some may think they can stop people earning, things evolve and can change. Also if you never do something or practice you will never get better. I used to get my ass handed to me as captain, now I don't. It only comes from wanting to, and trying to get better. That is not a lesson for sea battles, it is a lesson in life.
@wargecko & the game
And the below isn't neccessarily aimed at you, but more general comments on the game, some of it is in response to some of your posts though.
we have been in the same clan when you called yourself mini me, we have fought each other too.
I don't agree with all of what you say, no surprise there lol.
I told you went you went to 9th that I thought it was wrong and a bad idea to continue with the doom clan icon. I stand by that, it elicits a lot of emotion in people from the past.
Re BCs...The islands were invented a a PVP zone with very limited protection against being BCd. I would suggest that there is enhanced reward for enhanced risk. So those that look who is online and take the risk, deserve the rewards. It would would be disingenous to suggest elitists bc people on hop when they are on mainland, certainly not frequently. As above on islands people have hero quests that are hard to complete maybe once a month so people do get hit. But nowhere near as often as is portrayed, if I hit someone then I usually look first to see if they have a red bad on at least. I think many others do the same. But either way, everyone knows there is no protection on the islands, so I don't think this is an 'etiquette zone'. There are already too many player rules. Sadar used to get bcd all day every day by vaalor...but they found a way to survive.
You also made the point about bcing non-clanned players only I think. Well if such a community then why is it ok to bc non-clanned only. Not sure I ever got that rule, but I was not around when it started. As I am sure you know many low level players have high bc rep now from hitting the many unclanned that exist through alts or otherwise. Again player rules coming in.
I suppose the thing I find the oddest is that people play a game where they know there are BC spheres, and then they say something when they get BC'd. However there are spells and halos that can protect against them. Isn't it just easier to use some protection in arena, or areas where they can get BC'd (for an amount of time), rather than also denying xxx amount of people in both factions that want to work on rep, especially say when events are on and arenas are really buzzing.

I can trundle on more and of course opinions of people become set over time, but I don't see reason why they can't be loosened a bit at least.

If anyone wants to chat about a specific subject in any of the points in this thread then may I suggest they start a new thread with the subject in the title. Easy to lose things in various posts otherwise.
P.S. Rheangnf I thought it was pretty bad that you would say in main you will go to SB and use just a couple of lesser pots in battle once you got what you wanted from stage 1 & 2. To me it means nothing if you do that...but to the guys on your team? I think it would mean something else.
When the drama dies down and i become a big girl, i will solo sb.
Suspira,
I would love to solo the other side of that team.... when I find a nicer ride, and nicer spells, and nicer gear "> "> Guess I'm going to have to play harder to get all that ">
Just on a side note : Instead of going on about these stupid belt rules, why not just get rid of them completely, mount, well, yes, but belt shouldn't be a requirement. What about the people who have trouble getting belt and they don't get until about level 30? That means no heroism for them because they cant do SB.

Soooooo the point of that small paragraph is this - you guys say to let everyone in, as LONG as they have belt and mount, like that its you have to be level 25 to do SB.
@ Triggers if you don't have the belt and mount you are not going to win a lot of SB's hence no heroism anyway. Also by being unprepared you are hindering other players chance in your side to win ( which is not fair).
Nooberix,
Why should players who can afford to spend real money on the game get everything they want, fair or not, people should be allowed to do what they want, if they want to join SB well they can join SB, if they lose, then tough sh*t sader win a lot of them anyway.
-Triggers-,
From the original post: "lets make a bunch of sea battles happen each day regardless of level and how strong you think you are or are not"

Nooberix,
If I didn't learn the hard way, I would probably never learn at all. Let them join up, see how hard it is, and decide for themselves if they are ready. That's the point of this thread. Get SB popular and fun again, and see what happens.

When was the last time we all agreed to let Admin decide what the requirements are? I was not here when the "player rules" for sea battle started, have been curious for months as to how sea battles would look without the players forcing expensive rules. So, let's keep giving it a try!!! ">">
I need 20r now and after those I will start doing Sb again for nephilimquest.
Storm Kat,

Zalex Jrground rules for sb now as I think are as followed

mounts, skellys, balms, food and temple buffs are fine
min acceptable requirements are with a blue belt and a mount (prefered green or better)
no summons but dragon and skellys
no bc (unless heal after)
no bc revenge
all saying to other side is gf and compliment (or joke complain as a stretch) a move done to you (such as the ever funny reflecting your best spell back at you for a crit stun or a crit kill)

game improvements we would like: more heroism (losing side to get some and increased amounts for winning side due to no wars atm)
possibly tiers for those 52+ and 51-
randomized play fields (merging sadar and vaalors like they do in all other pvp battle arenas)

personal suggestions: make an sb event that can be done clan v clan!

Storm KatZalex Jr,
That's the idea. Hope to see you there soon! If you need any suggestions and advice, you know where to find me in game. ">

-Triggers-,
Trying not to get too technical here, but I'll explain. "ground rules" are simply because the game will give you a warning and ban you from the queue if you don't prep for sea battles. This is not a "player rule", is built in by administrators to keep people from joining and not doing anything for the team.

When you get to level 22, hopefully with mount and draggy trained and skellies and at least a canvas belt, and you join, you'll understand.

Then again, I'm pretty sure you're a reroll/alt, so you might already know all this ">
Storm Kat,
They wont ban you if you don't prep, they'll ban you if you get under 5k damage, or did it change again?
They will not ban you. You don't need mount dragon buffs or belt. There are no requirements.
